- Network, Network, Network. I believe this is very important because this may get you that job in the future or possibly sooner. You can communicate and build relationships in the corporate/professional world which is extremely beneficial.
- Set your personal goals. You want to set goals for your future. Setting goals can help you stay productive and get lots of work done. It can tie in with networking in a big way seeing that someone on the same career path as you can share ideas with you.
- Find a mentor. A mentor can help you stay on track and it could be anyone who you can look up to. This mentor should be someone who shows diligence in a way that benefits your success.
- Never shun a chance to learn more about the company/industry. Research about the company. This shows that you care about where you are going to be working and not just there to be there.
- Leave with Tangible accomplishments. Note down all the things you have accomplished and when you are at your job which could be any job make the best of it. Always give a good impression and walk away with many accomplishments.
- Tackle all tasks with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. I think this ties in with leaving with tangible accomplishments. If you work hard and complete the tasks at hand you are bound to leave with accomplishments.
- Have meeting with supervisors. This could help you if you are doing something wrong and need that feedback to improve your work. Find some time in your schedule to arrange that. This shows your supervisor that you care about where you work.
- Take initiative. If you know something needs to get done and nobody is stepping up, you should take initiative. This shows leadership in the workplace and can help you move up in the company.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions. Asking questions can be very beneficial to you while you are at your job. Most of the time you should research what your unfamiliar with, but don't be afraid to ask questions.
- Get as much exposure as possible. When working don't just stay where you are the whole time. You should explore and interact with others. This exposure could back fire if all you are doing is interacting with others and not getting your work done.
- Avoiding negativity. Don't bring your personal life into work that could have you in a negative mood. Also you should dress professional because managers can take it wrong if you don't.
- Enjoy Yourself. Well this is pretty simple and easy. I'm going to refer to a core value with my program "Work hard and have fun".
