The Best Job

Before coming to Year Up I was working at a farmer's market called Mission Community Market. I would have to say this job was very great. I was a host and talked with local merchants and helped setup for the market. My job involved moving and carrying things such as tables, tents, chairs, etc. The job was enjoyable because it was in a friendly environment and I always had fun talking to people who would stop by. Some people would dance and enjoy the great food that was served at the market. The major skills I developed were working independently on tasks that my boss would assign me. My communication skills were top notch and I was never scared to approach customers. I also did a little bit of work on the computer doing data entry. I was not afraid to ask my boss about how to do it and he found that I was able to learn quickly. Mostly in the workplace I was walking around the market helping out other merchants.

I learned that you shouldn't work with a frown on your face because it could tell your boss that you don't like your job. Working in the market things became very lucid to me. I caught on quick to new tasks assigned to me and found these tasks to be exhilarating on days that were very hectic. I learned that you should ask for work when you are done with a task. It shows that you have a tantalizing attitude and could lead to your future success in the workplace you are in.
